My attempt at making a purely mechanical habit tracker.
It’s a board of switches that can be arranged to fit any month of the year. Each switch represents a single day. The user gets to toggle the switch for the day when they complete the daily action that they want to turn into a habit.
The switches use an interesting pause-and-place technique that completely seals the knobs within their case. Fine-tuning the tolerances for the mechanism and the pause-and-place technique was very fun.
This is only picture I have of the completed tracker.
The print pauses here. I put in the knobs and then resume the print. The next layer bridges over most of the enclosures, connecting only at the borders and the axle. The tactility of the switch comes from the knob bending the flat plate, which is also made by bridging.
